It is an
established fact that the county of Västerbotten is one of the leading
areas in Sweden when it comes to IT development! |

 In the spring of 1998,
according to the Swedish Central Bureau of Statistics, Västerbotten was
the leading county when it came to the number of workplaces that were
connected up to the Internet.

Our nearest competitors were the large
population centres of Stockholm, Gothenburg and Uppsala. Among the more
sparsely populated counties in the country there was none that came even
close.
